Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but everyone I've kept in touch with from my MBA program is in exactly the same boat.

Gah. This doesn't bode well for my future at all. I mean, now I feel that whatever crap job I get now, I should stick with it for two or three years just to count it as "experience" before I jump into what I actually want to do, but I don't want to be stuck here for that long. I suppose if I get something remote, I can move next year when my lease runs out anyway, but I wouldn't know where without job prospects lined up. GAH.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

P-C, keep in mind these are people looking for jobs in New Orleans, which has had a sucky job market for decades, and none of them are in your field. There was a story on NPR recently abot how this year's crop of MBAs were getting great offers, even though its not happening here.

Librarians should not be timid.

{{{Lyra}}} But yay for good interviews!

Also, I set up an interview for next week, and I'm trying to decide if the fact I'm pretty sure I'd hate the job is enough reason to cancel the interview, or if I should just suck it up, be a grown-up and go in.

I wouldn't cancel unless you've accepted another offer by that time. If you're offered the job and still think you'd hate it, that's the time to say no. I mean, you never know. You might meet someone who'll be in a position to help you in the future, and I think it's more professional to follow through on the process unless you learn something between applying and interviewing that really turns you off about them.

Congratulations, Cashmere!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

In mememe news, I've found a few work from home opportunities that look legit--or at least don't scream scam--that I'm going to look into when I get back from Alabama. Who knows if they'll work out, but it never hurts to try.
