[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Coke, OTOH, features on days like these.

Ah...makes total sense. Coke away, then!

It was nice for the self esteem. And they picked the right day for it. Also, I got my first paycheck! Yay!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Hee. It's coming up on 11 pm here, so maybe not right now. But I shall keep the option in mind.

I'm currently packing for a trip to Canberra. It'll be good to see selected family members again. I've bought a birthday pressie for my feckless older brother, after a bit of soul searching. It's a book on the coherence or otherwise of Bush's morality, by Peter Singer. It's right up his alley.

After I finish packing, I shall wash the floors of the apartment. And as this includes the corridor outside my room, at that point I will have imprisoned myself for the night. It's good to have a plan.

They pay you too? They must be really impressed. :-)

I know!

And yes, it's very good to have a plan.

Our wings are not tired.

I just wish she'd hurry up and talk.

I found parenting much easier with communication. The talking wasn’t as big a change in #1’s life as reading was for him. He was frustrated that he had to rely on me for the joy of books. He didn’t express that in words, but it was obvious that he wanted and needed the option of devouring books whenever he pleased. I took him to a tutor to help him make the big jump from whole words he had memorized and sounding things out. He was so happy when it all fell into place. Still his big joy. He just went on a 2 day business trip with dad and he packed 6 books.

I don't really think she's behind, but she sure isn't following the usual order of doing things.

Huh. There’s a usual order? I know we all read the books and suffer over the timetables, but the range of when kids reach their milestones varies so much. Forget the books, they are crazy making. Kids talk when it suits them. If her needs are being taken care of she doesn’t need to talk. She doesn’t have a need to have a conversation with you. She only needs to convey her wishes and that she can accomplish many other ways. Motor mouth Bobby didn’t talk until he was 3. He’s made up for lost time.

Aims – shoots – scores. Imma call Aimée scores from now on.

They've been so pleased with my initiative and the work I've done.

Whee! I’m so pleased to see your abilities recognized.

How long does it take you to get to Canberra? It takes me 2-1/2 hours to get to where my family lives. That is close enough to see them when the mood strikes, but far enough away that they don't drop by for tea.

The flight takes about an hour. Driving, it'd be between six and seven hours. I'd like to do that maybe around September or October.

vw, so is your job going to change? You can't do a full time thing, right?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

billytea, remember the Weetabix I had when you visited? Yeah, well, I was out of cereal the other day, so I had some Weetabix. I had no idea it was that good! Yum.
