Spike ,'Lineage'

Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Thus the link. Those were some of my favorite childhood shows.

Children of the 80's, latchkey kids and spawn of Nickelodeon...I give you...the mother lode

It's like I'm back in that clubhouse on the uncomfortable leather sofa, or one of those weird chair seat thingies with the two tilted padded panels which were supposedly ergonomically correct making Wonder Woman bracelets out of old tennis ball cans.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm way late on this, but I agree that the shower at the spa is excessive, Aimee.

Also, is Luna still biting you? I thought she was over that.

Just some of the shows I recognize
Mr Wizards World, Livewire, Special Delivery, The Third Eye, Belle and Sebastien, The Little Prince, Out of Control, Turkey TV

Sadly I can also see exactly where my Nick viewing tapered with the exception of Nick at Nite.

Plei! How are you? How is Lilibeaner? How big now?

I'm tired, mildly cranky for no good reason, and she feels about 10lbs, I think.

Emily, I'm your age +/- a year (I'll be 31 on the 19th of this month). While the late 80s is probably when my Nick watching started (when it was added to our cable package), I got a TV for my 17th birthday, which meant never having to fight for the TV and losing to my mother's game shows.

You know what I miss? 120 Minutes, Kevin Seal, and Liquid Television

And Dobie Gillis.

I told Jon it was called Liquid Television!!! He kept saying it was Oddities, which I think was something else.

Also, I'm feeling very get offa my lawn with the kids thinking the Pete&Pete era was the golden age of Nickelodeon. Nothing beats The Mysterious Cities of Gold or the amazing creepiness of the Third Eye shows. Horrible production values, but they still give me the wigs.

ETA: Plei three words. Stick. Figure. Theater.

Are you ready to be strong?

Is P&P a cartoon show, or live action, or...BOTH?!

I'm going to regret this, and if it's still around later I may snag it, but for Plei [link]

Are you ready to be strong?

Aimee, I don't really have any advice for you, just an enlightening example:

My best friend's family is rich. Her wedding cost like 5 times what ours will. I was a bridesmaid. Her father bought all the bridesmaids our outfits (including shoes) and paid for professional gays to do our hair and makeup. We paid our airfare and hotel fee, but because of that my friend wouldn't let us buy her anything more expensive than, like, a $16 table setting. She did it right, yo.

I'm not having a wedding party or any showers, and we're shunning gifts altogether, because we're past the age when we are just starting out our lives and need stuff to fill our house. I might do a manicure-pedicure day the day before for the ladies, but I'm gonna pay for the whole thing, even though I am decidedly not wealthy. The reason: The only thing we care about is having the people we love around us, and happy. We want to make that possibility as likely as we can.

Anyway. Like I said, no real advice. But in your shoes I think I would skip the spa and do everything else.
