Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh how aggrevating, vw.

Aimée, I'm sorry you got ooky email. But you have a very very cute baby! Oh, and the package from you arrived yesterday, yay!

Seattle is not meant to be 85 degrees. Seattle is meant to be no warmer than 65, thankyouverymuch. I am contemplating having little cards printed that say "No, I'm not roasting in all this lightweight, flowing, natural-fiber black clothing. Yes, I am pale, because I wear sunblock and carry a parasol. No, I don't think I'd look better with a tan." That way, when The Clueless Masses ask me the same questions they ask EVERY summer, I can just hand them a card and walk away.

What is even happening?

OH, Aimee, those are great pictures.

Chris and I just snuggled up on the couch and read the last story in The House at Pooh Corner. His choice. It is: IN WHICH Christopher Robin and Pooh Come to an Enchanted Place, and We Leave Them There.

I was thinking about my own little Christopher going off to kindergarten in the Fall. And by the end, I was crying, which of course confused Chris.

Then, suddenly again, Christopher Robin, who was Still looking at the world with his chin in his hands, called out "Pooh!"
"Yes?" said Pooh.
"When I'm--when-- Pooh!"
"Yes, Christopher Robin?"
"I'm not going to do Nothing any more."
"Never again?"
"Well, not so much. They don't let you."
Pooh waited for him to go on, but he was silent again.
"Yes, Christopher Robin?" said Pooh helpfully.
"Pooh, when I'm--you know--when I'm not doing Nothing, will you come up here sometimes?"
"Just Me?"
"Yes, Pooh."
"Will you be here too?"
"Yes, Pooh, I will be really. I promise I will be, Pooh."
"That's good," said Pooh.
"Pooh, promise you won't forget about me, ever. Not even when I'm a hundred."
Pooh thought for a little. "How old shall I be then?"
"Ninety-nine."
Pooh nodded. "I promise," he said.
Still with his eyes on the world Christopher Robin put out a hand and felt for Pooh's paw.
"Pooh," said Christopher Robin earnestly, "if I--if I'm not quite" he stopped and tried again --". Pooh, whatever happens, you will understand, won't you?"
"Understand what?"
"Oh, nothing." He laughed and jumped to his feet. "Come on!"
"Where?" said Pooh.
"Anywhere," said Christopher Robin.

So they went off together. But wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.

*shaky fist*

Why did I read what you quoted? I know that Winnie-the-Pooh story makes me sniffly.

Now I want to leave work and spend the day doing Nothing, in the company of my Devilbunny.

See?

It's not fair. You're going to wake up tomorrow, and Emma's going to be going to kindergarten, and Susan and Cashmere will be talking about Annabel and Owen being on their way to first grade, and I'm going to be in the retirement home, complaining about my rheumatism.

Yes. Do nothing, and go anywhere. And don't think a thing about Factors, and such, which steal magic from our hearts, spleens and various other magic repositories small children
