Wow. All kinds of medical~ma to your friend, Jilli.
I've had significant improvement overnight
That's good news. My back went out once when Jake was little -- maybe around two -- and it was a spasm. Just this horrible knot of pain that got tighter and tighter. It's awful. My mother-in-law lived in town, though, so she essentially took him for about three days, during the day, while Stephen was at work. Picking up toddlers is not conducive to a thrown-out back.
Much ~ma to Jilli's friend.
I get spasms like that in my legs sometimes...they hurt a lot.
Medical ~ma, Jilli. Very scary.
Okay, running out the door...wish me luck, all...
Eeeeee! An update from my friend's wife:
He's still in surgery, but the old liver is out and the new one is in. There's still about an hour of surgery left while they finish hooking all the bits up. We're not out of the woods yet, but the trees are becoming more sparse. Keep doing whatever you've been doing.
All the tubes are out of Hubby, and he's on Prednizone for the residual pain. He says it hurts worse than the kidney stones.
Oh, the poor guy. I hope it gets under control.
He's stood up and wobbled in place a bit, he's managed to get a bit of solid food down him and have it stay. They're saying I should be able to take him home today.
You know connie, I think I'd bounce around the words
accidental hole burn through heart; malpractice lawyer
and see if I couldn't get him another night or two in the hospital. I know the hospital sucks, but that's a lot of stress on you to have him home, and if his pain is bad, his blood pressure can spike. Screw that. He needs to be monitored. They burnt through his heart.
cereal,
Many prayers and good thoughts for your friend, Jilli. Is this the man who was so ill a couple of months ago?
quickie meara:
Health-ma and recovery-ma to Jilli's friend, and cool heads and steady hands to everyone in the OR.
Life-ma to Kristin: just wishing you all kinds of goodness and calmness and resolution to all the muddles, because you so greatly deserve it.
So glad you're improved and it might be just muscular, Susan! (I mean, I know it hurts hugely enough that even "just" is pretty bad, but still ever so much better than a rotten disk.)
Gah, connie. So glad he's out and recovering, but it sounds agonizing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that, aside from poking inconvenient holes in DH, the genius surgeon got it right and all DH's rhythm will right and true and steady from here on out.
Yay vw!
Go pinking-up Lilty!
An entire pie and gummi bears is nothing to be ashamed of, as long as it's not (as I first read) an entire pie
made of
gummi bears, which would be seriously Nast.
ION, it's still quite a ways short of noon, I had a decent breakfast, and yet I am so furiously hungry I could mug the next conference-lunch-deliveryperson who walks past. Hush now, body of mine. Chill out.

You gotta at least have some sort of crust as a nod toward the Platonic pie. It's only right.
