So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

MCU winds up either creating its own fanon around a 'verse (hit or miss, usually miss) or borrowing heavily from 616 (less hit or miss, depending on what they're borrowing).

And, hey, at least there's as much material with it as there is with Sherlock at this point!

(If you count Norton Hulk, and are only going by movies, and not AoS.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, I figured with the amount of stories, people had to reach into head or alternate canons. I don't know if I know many of them enough to read AUs, for instance. But with Inception, I gobbled it up.

My sister is still in Brokeback Mountain fandom, consuming stories. I love her dedication. She also ferrets out any M/M video in either of the Americas (she's bilingual with Spanish (and her French is better than mine...) and she loves her "Argie soaps") so she's OTT in a fun way. Must ask her what she thinks about the gay sex in How To Get Away With Murder.

I know I complain a lot, and to be fair, I should point out lines I think are brilliant, like:

his body language making the whole hallway feel like a calculus test

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I like the Marvels fic; I could get an MCU post-fic, or a Civil War fix-it fic (Infinity Stones, what have you), an AU of any of the above. It could be noir. Pre-serum Steve. Anything else from the 616 verse. There's so much canon that it's hard to get tired or repetitive. And if it's canon I don't know, hullo Wikipedia. Which is great as a comic reference.

Which is vastly different from the SPN fic I read, where I am very Leary and weary of stories too closely related to canon. Like, I ready watched that obsessively. I was kind if annoyed the first time around and I don't want to see it rehashed. I don't quite understand the difference that keeps me entertained with the MCU fics rolling out the same ideas, and running away from SPN fics that do the same. Maybe it's that the MCU has bigger ideas more easily translated into different stories, and SPN is too specific?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I got turned off SPN casefic and onto AUs early on, because of some writer I had who wrote inter-episode stories, but kept her characterisation at S1+Dean and Sam share a bed for platonic comfort. Her monsters were very unsatisfying, as well as her reluctance to follow the show when she said she was.

I think that's when I went on my Dean/OMC binge as well. But now I'm so Dean/Cas it's ridiculous, except for the crazy people out there. D/C & Sam is the magic solution. I get sad when Sammy boy isn't around--please pair him with Jessica or Sarah, no Amelia or OCs.

Interestingly to me, I read my third Dean & Cas plan a wedding fic--the first was the pumpkin cake one, and the second my last big bang fill, and the third really similar to both, called Amethyst. I guess that makes it a thing, huh, organising Sam and Jess's wedding?

Maybe it's that the MCU has bigger ideas more easily translated into different stories, and SPN is too specific?

So AUs don't remedy that for you? I'm very judgmental--if Garth wants to be a vet instead of a dentist, I'm perplexed. As with all the Jo/Charlie and Charlie Winchester stories. THAT'S NOT HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK.

Okay, I guess I'm not that into bigger ideas.

There are people out there who want MORE Sam/Amelia than the show itself gave us?!?

WORD.

I'm trying to explain the difference between OOC and not and audience satisfaction on IO9. Dean/Lisa is in character, even if demonised, and Sam/Amelia is highly absurd. Poor actress. It's only some of her fault--if Sam had kept looking for Dean during the relationship, that'd be a bit better.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Go Dana!

Who defaulted on Yueltide (within the grace period, at least), because she had the horrible realization there was just no way she would have time to write a story?

hangs head in shame
