The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Debet, that would be fabulous! I just want to make sure the thing (about 3k words) holds together. Is your profile addy the best way to get it to you?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

That'll work, Anne

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Just read a fabulously creepy Avengers fic (mild steve/tony) called What Lies Beneath by asktheravens. [link]

There's a sense of dread right from the beginning that never relents and gets steadily worse without going into full-on horror or losing its atmosphere.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Stark spangled banner is one of the great ship names out there, I think. But I just can't help putting Steve into the mix. He's not supposed to be there, is he?

What is considered the correct etiquette for abandoning a story? I really hate getting a new story that is all author's note explaining a personal tale about why they can't go on, but I just came across one that said, effectively, "this story is now judge mid-story, mid fluff, and I'm gonna put drabbles here instead."

I was surprised how irritated that was. I think I prefer the author just walking away, since my memory isn't good enough (or the fics brilliant enough) to just forget it ever happened, pretty much.

Just start a new story entirely! And behave yourself and don't have content that doesn't match the summary.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I believe Steve is the "spangled" in that name.

Thanks! That makes so much more sense.

It's so ridic how much I don't want to read Avengers fic and find out for myself. I like the movies (sans Thor's) a great deal, and most of the characters, but no likey readie. But I don't think I've read fic for any movie since Inception. I just don't feel there's enough there there to get started, I think.

brillig

I've put in brief notes explaining that my fic writing has been derailed by family issues, but I didn't go into detail.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

MCU winds up either creating its own fanon around a 'verse (hit or miss, usually miss) or borrowing heavily from 616 (less hit or miss, depending on what they're borrowing).

And, hey, at least there's as much material with it as there is with Sherlock at this point!

(If you count Norton Hulk, and are only going by movies, and not AoS.)

Yeah, I figured with the amount of stories, people had to reach into head or alternate canons. I don't know if I know many of them enough to read AUs, for instance. But with Inception, I gobbled it up.

My sister is still in Brokeback Mountain fandom, consuming stories. I love her dedication. She also ferrets out any M/M video in either of the Americas (she's bilingual with Spanish (and her French is better than mine...) and she loves her "Argie soaps") so she's OTT in a fun way. Must ask her what she thinks about the gay sex in How To Get Away With Murder.

I know I complain a lot, and to be fair, I should point out lines I think are brilliant, like:

his body language making the whole hallway feel like a calculus test
