This here's a recipe for unpleasantness.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Ok, here's something I just discovered about myself. When I'm looking for Sherlock Holmes (RDjr movies) fic if I stumble on a crossover fic tagged Frostiron, I apparently quit reading the summary when I get to a bit describing Loki as "kind of heart".

Huh.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Yeah. Only if it's an AU. And a wacky, cracky one at that.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Not that I've seen the movies, but my impression is "kind of dick" would be more on point, if not quite grammatically sound.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Well, that's certainly the impression fanfic would give, if you don't have the a after the of.

So much lack of desire to read anything with him doing anything with that part of his anatomy.

On the other hand, I can imagine that there might be a very small number of people in the worlds that Marvel!movie Loki might be kind to under certain circumstances. Say, for instance, Frigga - if she had been grievously injured rather than killed, and Loki were the only person available to tend to her, I think he would be kind to her. Of course he would likely be simultaneously scheming around her abscence, but in interactions with her, he would be kind.

Loki's reaction to Frigga was one of the best parts of Thor 2.

I have a really hard time imaging Loki falling in love, but if it should happen... well I honestly can't picture the relationship. But I can picture him with a daughter, being quite tender when she is little (and not quite useless when she is older, but not exactly wise, either). And just because the universe loves to screw around with people that way, she'd probably have native sensibilities more like Thor's than Loki's and it would mess him up badly in how to relate.

Some of the best fic out there is Loki and his kids and his reactions when people threaten his kids.

He certainly wouldn't be boring as a father. Although I can picture him making a few miscalculations about what makes for a good (read: healthy) bedtime story.

ETA: I can also imagine that he might make for an interesting neighbor, particularly if you did him a favor. "Oh, hey, some big blond bloke came looking for you, and I didn't like his attitude so I told him you'd moved out and gone to Alaska and there's a nice Argentinian couple living here now."

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Considering who Loki's kids are in mythology, I don't see him as being a model parent. Though I guess Sleipnir turned out all right.
