Stop means no. And no means no. So . . . stop.

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

It's the references to benches in the kitchen as opposed to counters that always makes me blink. Then again, in Tony Stark's kitchen, the odds of the counters being used as workbenches is high.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Do we know Tony has a kitchen?

(I've never heard a kitchen counter called a bench. Maybe it's regional?)

In Tony Stark's house are many kitchens. At least in fic.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Because where else would the Avengers have their team breakfasts?

In the breakfast nook. Where did you grow up?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

In a kitchen not big enough for Hawkeye to perch on top of the fridge.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

As long as it's not Dean Winchester or Tony Stark using it, fine.

Ok, I can't say I have ever heard Stark say "whilst" but I certainly use it in conversation.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It works if you're writing Chandler Bing too, but not the aforementioned characters.

Some writers click with the voices of certain characters better than they do others.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I caught a lot of flack in comments for a psychiatric diagnosis and recommended treatment. One dear ESL person asked, "Is it correct that you will never spoken to a mental health professional person?" I thanked her sweetly for her comment.

Two years after the fic was posted, it got a comment last week, advising those commenters, "Actually, the diagnosis was likely correct, given the symptoms. And that course of treatment is often recommended, with far less side effects than formerly, and with significant success."

So, you know, I'm all vindicated.
