Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Belatedly, it occurs to me to ask, what pushes a fandom towards cute ship names instead of pairing smooshes? (Brought to you by an attempt to parse "Frostiron.")

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What fandom is that?

Avengers. I assume it's Loki/Tony.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Stark and Emma Frost apparently had a thing in the comics at one point (or at least were retconned as having had one), so it could be that too.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I admit that I love "Stark Spangled Banner". Both the cutesy name and the 'ship. I don't buy it, really, but it's fun.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Avengers. I assume it's Loki/Tony.

Yep. I have friends who write it.

Personally, I don't get cutesy pairing names OR horrible portmanteaus, but I'm willing to accept that I may be the cranky one on this.

Oh, no, that's always a given. Except for the funny ones.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I think someone on the Internet hates me. In the past two weeks I've gotten four spam messages on temporarily abandoned stories.

This is extra frustrating because when I hit the link, I'm worried it'll be someone berating me for the lack of updates, and wind up extra disappointed that its actually just junk mail.

I get the spam messages sometimes more than once a month. Yes, people on the internet hate us. They're called spammers, and they deride us so much they abuse us on the very offchance of a return.

I went on a date with a guy who wrote spam software when I just moved out to LA. He was incredibly...not contrite. I didn't even pause for a second to consider seeing him again.

I think you should have agreed to a second date and used Audition as a model for it.
