No, fandom didn't make it up. It was called both knotting and tying before we showed up.
I think I know those pictures!
Thing is, when she named them, I didn't...
Which goes to show how meaningfully titled they are. She wants to write backstory to Tie Me Up and Finger Licking Good (less bondagey, but still little bit of tying, so I'm going to give it a pass).
I have no idea if we're simpatico--I know when you write something from one of my pictures that we're on the same bit-more-than-metaphorical page. We shall see. I was kinda nervous when I drew Sam and Grace, but I knew you. When I drew for the Mafia story, I was beside myself nervous, because I felt like a horrible brown-noser.
But that turned out great. So I am optimistic here.
Wow, those were not the two I pictured! I was thinking of the ropes one. But I love those two, and either way, I'm sure she'll give it her best shot. Nice to know you inspired someone, too.

This is a totally lovely Doctor Who story set after "Angels Take Manhattan".
It's not as cool as when Amy writes a story related to my fic, but Amy has spent a lot longer in my head (and, hey, she's a better writer too), but it
is
still way cool to have someone write a story for one of my pics--the author who contacted me is halfway through the porn I inspired...and I ain't mad at her.
I am happy at her. She's sweet and nice and the idea that she saw a story in a complete stranger's art, and the complete stranger is me...that's going to take some getting used to. I stumbled on the story before I read the email saying she'd posted it, so seeing my nym up there on AO3 was startling.
And reading what someone I don't know is thinking is quite fascinating, really. I'm trying to remember what I was thinking, what I am thinking right now, and how the whole thing fits together.

Loki tries to conquer Discworld; things do not go well.

Very amusing.
I just ran across a Captain America fic that started off with pre-serum Steve and Bucky standing in front of a TV store watching broadcasts on the screens. I didn't have the stomach to read further and see if they had a microwave at home or opted to stop and eat at a Wendy's instead.
Consuela that was great. The author describes this as "crack" fiction - a term I'm familiar with but only from context. This story actually captured the voice of Prachett I thought, and had the same kind of plot. Does that mean the story was not in fact crack, or that the whole Discworld series is crack?
I would call that kind of crossover crack -- or monkey crack. It's the very premise that's ludicrous: complete absurdity, without anything in the way of real drama or serious character development.
"Crack" fic is generally fic with an absurd premise, played for laughs, or at least not for being taken seriously.
Isn't that much of the Discworld series? It developed its own consistent logic over time. But the early ones never let logic get in the way of a good pun or a good punchline.
Well, yeah, Discworld is often played for laughs. And most Discworld crossovers are, as well.
