Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Incest? JFC, WHY?

Wishes for Hansel and Gretel incest have already gone across my dash.

Seriously? You don't even need to know stuff about them?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I lamented this elsewhere: one of my all-time favorite fic writers has started writing Teen Wolf.

Once I accepted she's never going back to the 'verse I'd love, kill or pay for more of? I am just thrilled she's writing. (And, really, you barely need canon to enjoy it. It's obviously funnier when you know canon because, well, it's this author. But you don't need much to enjoy the story. There is a wolf, he's a teen. He's got a sarcastic friend we all like better than him. Hijinks ensure.) So I am superhappy about it.

There needs to be a greeting card for that. "My condolences that your favorite fic writer has moved on to a canon you don't follow."

Honestly, this has happened to me a few times. And often they are fandoms where I just Do Not Want.

There should be a someecard. But they demanded that I create an account with them so I didn't save the one I just made.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

BUT WEREWOLVES. WHY? WHY WEREWOLVES? Hmmph.

Just think of them as furry vampires!

Creepy, intense and often focused on humans. I mean, they are sort of hirsute vampires. But less killing their friends and brooding so far.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

That sentence is so far out of my personal canon for monsters that I don't think I can parse it.

BUT STILL. WEREWOLVES. This is an irrational prejudice of mine, and I admit that. VAMPIRES ARE SO MUCH BETTER, OMG. clutches copy of The Vampire Lestat to ankh-bedecked bosom

And thanks to Dana's link, I have no more productivity for the evening! Whoo!

I just ignored that they are werewolves. It's possible I think of them as vampires with questionable CGI and facial hair. I'm not saying I do because that would be disdaining the rich history of monsters and twisting a show into my personal prefs and maybe wrong. (I kinda do.)

I had not seen that. I want several of them.

Mmm-hmm. American Werewolf in London is one of the best all-time monster films, despite its lack of vampires.

Ooo! I wonder if it's Yuletide eligible...

Okay, THAT I will agree with.

Ooo! I wonder if it's Yuletide eligible...

Oh hey! That would be a great fandom to read fic in.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I was so relieved when I got an update from one of my fave authors that didn't immediately involve me deleting the post from my phone and account due to the tag "Teenwolf". At least one person hasn't jumped ship for the shiny new fandom I am not a part of. Too many authors that I have markedto track for updates have been updating in the "wrong" fandom!
