But that's just my point! You she obeys! She obeys you! There's obeying going on right under my nose!

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Heh, Gar, I like that title too. I'll have to think if it works for this story--although I would note that I have just sent Lucy off on an undercover mission into the Western Wild. At age 11. So Kings and Queens and Vagabonds may well be appropriate!

And I'm always glad to hear that people liked it.

Anyway, Hmmm.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I just read the most astonishing AU fic in bandom. It's incredibly gruesome in some parts, but the characterization is amazing. It's based off a real-life crime ( the 2003 German cannibal who said his victim had agreed to be killed and eaten ), and I never would have thought a fic using that as the premise would work, but it did.

Obviously, it's not a story I would recommend to everyone, but I found it fascinating and well-written.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Huh. I just opened that, read the warnings and backed the hell out. Clearly I should give it a shot. It wasn't the warnings so much as the idea that it would be done poorly or weirdly.

Here's the link on lj [link]

It was really well-written. But there is an EXTREMELY gruesome section in ... part 2? I mean, in addition to the whole idea of what the story is based on -gruesome. It didn't squick me out, but I have a long history of reading splatterpunk. But I think you'd be able to skip that part of it without losing much.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Hey, is anyone going to Vividcon this year? Can I hit someone up for a DVD? (which I will pay for, of course)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I've decided that, for WIPs, hitting your chapter count and then making me wait indefinitely for the epilogue is wrong. Epilogues should be posted with the final chapter. Especially when most epilogues are "and they got married, had kids, got a dog, parents did't mind that they're gay after all, fences are mended with estranged childhood best friend" etc. That's not the story, that's the grace note after the story is over, and if it's not, then it's not the epilogue. And if it is a proper epilogue, please don't make me wait on for the fluff. Fluff isn't worth me holding my breath for /PMSing

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You can have mine, Lee. That should account for my three.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Sail,

Interesting, from what I read, but chapter 2 is a duplicate of chapter 1.
