Over on LJ, sam_storyteller is posting a
fabulous
post-HP6 fic (Title: Cartographer's Craft). It's a WIP, but it's being updated every few days or so.
There's a plot element in it that would scream "fixit" to most people, but it ends up being a wonderful plot complication rather than a way to make things better.
Well, this is just...
Help me out. I need some words here.
Chutzpah? OMGWTH?
So, has this hit fandom_wank yet?

Hey, if it works, I can crank out a "Waah, I'm too poor to write for you people who don't contribute to my lifestyle" letter too.

Dunno. I picked it up from a few bemused posts on LJ.

Wow. So much for fanfiction being 'not for profit', eh?
I don't know why I'm taken aback. It's not like I haven't seen this before. It's just...some people out there manage to struggle through just fine without blackmailing their readers, I guess. I know there are people out there who are incredible writers, and whose financial situations are less than optimal, and they do what they have to do without resorting to cheap tactics like this.
I've been offered cookies, and occassionally receive nummy pictures. Obviously I have to rethink my bribe scale.
Um, wow.
The mind boggles.
And frankly, hon, that's why they call it fan fiction. If you got paid for it, it would be called a tie-in.
It has hit fandom_wank, by the way. I'm sure we're all shocked.
