I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Well, this is just...

Help me out. I need some words here.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Chutzpah? OMGWTH?

So, has this hit fandom_wank yet?

Hey, if it works, I can crank out a "Waah, I'm too poor to write for you people who don't contribute to my lifestyle" letter too.

Dunno. I picked it up from a few bemused posts on LJ.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

....

....

Wow. So much for fanfiction being 'not for profit', eh?

I don't know why I'm taken aback. It's not like I haven't seen this before. It's just...some people out there manage to struggle through just fine without blackmailing their readers, I guess. I know there are people out there who are incredible writers, and whose financial situations are less than optimal, and they do what they have to do without resorting to cheap tactics like this.

I've been offered cookies, and occassionally receive nummy pictures. Obviously I have to rethink my bribe scale.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Um, wow.

The mind boggles.

And frankly, hon, that's why they call it fan fiction. If you got paid for it, it would be called a tie-in.

It has hit fandom_wank, by the way. I'm sure we're all shocked.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If people will pay her for it ... well, there's the impact on the fan fiction rep/community as a whole, but otherwise if her fanbase wants to pay her to take a year off, I'd be impressed.

Just like I have nothing against those chicks who set up websites asking for random money, except where it makes the less reasoning daub all women with the same opportunistic brush.
