Wash: Captain, didn't you know kissin' girls makes you sleepy? Mal: Well sometimes I just can't help myself.

I am old.

At my one and only vividcon, I sat up until 2 am with LJC and talked about Robin of Sherwood fandom. Which had its heyday in, like, 1988. I am older than you!

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I have known LJC longer than I've known shrift.

LJC knows everyone. We could play the fandom Kevin Bacon game with her.

Oooh, you know how there's a number in mathematics for how many degrees you are separated from wassname? We could have an LJC number.

I explained fan fiction to my counselor yesterday.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I explained fan fiction to my counselor yesterday.

That's always fun.

"I have a creative outlet now. I've been writing short stories."

"That's very good to hear. What kind of stories?"

"Fanfiction."

"What is that?"

"You know when you are really fascinated by a show and you can't help but imagine what the characters are doing off screen...."

"Riiiiiight. That sounds - lovely. I'm glad you have something you enjoy."

Always Anti-fascist!

Who has two thumbs and has had that conversation? This girl. Also, I believe most social workers think I made y'all up. As in, the invisible-friend thing is not a light-hearted jest. But if I made this up, most of you would be closer. And a few more would have firearms and forensic expertise(they haven't really read my writing either. But they think it's great that I have a hobby. Sigh.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In the middle of explaining fic to my parents (why they were being coy, I don't understand--they read my Mary Sue stories) my sister would make COUGHSLASHCOUGH noises.

Ah, hello? Who fed you all the Inception stories, homeslice? I'm not going down here alone...

Therapist I saw after getting out of the hospital, I'd have hated to try to explain to her that, no really, the control issues I keep writing about are the characters', not mine. Or my mother's. Or Daniel's.

Oh, fanfic writer, why you gotta do that to me?

An Avengers story that in the first line throws me out: because dude, there were no US soldiers in Iraq in 2000. No, seriously, there weren't.

::sigh::

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That's like bumping into an H50 fic supposedly set in 1941 and had Danno sitting on the beach listening to a transistor radio in the first paragraph. Uh, no. Every time someone recced the story I wanted to scream at them to stop reccing shit where the author doesn't do the most basic research.
