Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
Excellent. I'm thinking of actually putting some writing out there, which I haven't done since, like, 2006.
Excellent, Zen!
I'm packing my bags and moving over to dreamwidth and just cross posting from there. which means that I'll be stripping all the coding I put in, but as least it's not a future of being done yet not done.
It's a little sad. In the stress and everything after my mom got sick, I dropped out the little fic writing community I was in. I forgot about two websites where my stuff was archived - one I guess was purged, and the other I don't remember my login anymore, AND, I forgot that I had a yahoo email address in my pseudonym name. But that's still there and I remembered the password, so now I'm deleting four years' worth of spam.
I'm feeling a little snubbed. hoodie_time, a SPN hurt-comfort comm, rec'd a bunch of AHBL fics, and didn't include consumes thee. So I tooted my own horn in the comments.
Figures--the one thing I've written in years I liked enough to post. And yeah, it's four years old, but so are some of the others.

Even though you (general you) tell yourself it shouldn't matter, that sort of thing still has the power to cut. Good on you for speaking up in the comments.
I feel like a brat. It shouldn't matter, you know? But the rec is for such a tiny, specific slice of SPN fic, and consumes thee is exactly that, more than gen, or Bobby-specific, or "angst" or any of the other labels people have labeled it. So it smarts a little to be overlooked.
Thanks for the hugs. I'll take 'em.
Okay, now my fic has taken me beyond being scared about being sensitive and socially aware of asexuality, and into the realm of responding to a poster that what they are experiencing isn't asexuality but sexual aversion.
They told me that Cas doesn't like sex because of a bad experience. I responded that good bad or neutral experiences don't dictate asexuality.
They told me that it was one of the most insightful comments they'd received in reply to theirs.
I'm not a social voice, omg!!
Seriously, wtf are people doing out there? I'm the most ignorant and unPC person evar!
Oh god, I am so un-PC, I am not the voice of council, of social awareness, of progressiveness. And definitely not the voice telling someone that no, their bad experience doesn't make them an ace, and that there is counseling for them.
So if someone is in the mood for Narnia fanfiction, the Narnia Fanfiction Exchange just closed, and the master list of stories is here: [link]
There are a few duds, but the general quality is quite high. I would certainly recommend: Food For Thought, Dichotomy, Written in the Dust, A Flight of Fantasy (steampunk Narnia!), The Exhaustion of Dawn, Words We Don't Have, Out of Season, and I Love Not the Man But Nature More.
