I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

so imagine what it's like for someone who couldn't stand her.

Fine, but they're not exactly on the moral high ground there. There's a whole suite of false statements in that thread, and nobody challenged them or corrected them. And if I know that about the thread I'm mentioned in, I'm damn sure it's true of many other bashing threads.

Plus, I gotta say I'm steamed at the whole "I don't like X because she's friends with Y". That's just ridiculous. I don't mind people thinking I'm insufferable, but I've been through the whole "lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas" bullshit before, and it's toxic and stupid and juvenile.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Is this in ffa or the spn one?

I'll check it out and perhaps anon-fact-correct, then. As one occasionally is forced to do. (I think I've posted there... twice? Both times correcting things.)

I do get why people like the anonymemes. Certainly it's useful for shit like fic recs and talking about touchy issues that one isn't prepared to discuss publicly otherwise.

But it's ridiculously easy to abuse that sort of setup, and just use it to spew falsehoods about people.

Eh, people spew falsehoods in all formats. They're people. That's what they do.

Also, ahahaha -- wait, what about people to your left politically only doing it to be edgy and cool? Who do they have you confused with, exactly? o.0

I KNOW. I have no idea where that came from. Because you know me, I spend a lot of time ranting about people who are edgy and cool. Those damn hipsters! t shakes cane

I also never spent a lot of time ranting about incest in SPN. I think I made one public post about how I didn't read, write, or rec it, and that was it. But that's apparently enough to label me a prude, and probably a wannabe censor.

I am, of course, over-reacting: I shouldn't read that place, but I go there because I'm bored and work blocks my flists, and Disqus.

I tried to go in and correct, but I couldn't see the screen to do so as my eyes were rolling so hard.

See? It was a sea of things which are not quite falsehoods but certainly not true, either! Misinterpretations piled on sweeping generalizations, along with some tainted-by-association and how-dare-they-think-they're-cool. I think.

Also, they diss b.org, because we're elitist know-it-alls because Tim posts here.

If this perception keeps out the sort of ignorance and discourtesy I see rampant in most places on the net, I say ivory tower, yay!
