I'm gonna buck the trend and say no, not terribly. I mean, he's got eyes, but I don't think he really wants to do her; I saw some describing his behavior toward her as looking like big brother and annoying little sister, and I think that's closer to what I see.
I think he could get there--they click together pretty well every now and then--but he's not there yet.
Is Daniel attracted to Vala?
Nope. Very with Katie here, although I'd add that they'd have to sell me pretty hard to buy that changing.
I think the best she could get right now would be a pity fuck. And I'm not sure she'd be interested in that.
Well, only if you take them as a wacky screwball comedy couple. They do remind me of Cary Grant and the Katharine Hepburn characters in
Bringing Up Baby,
although Vala creates mayhem deliberately rather than unintentionally.
t giggles at the mental image of Daniel and Vala kissing while hanging on to a crumbling dinosaur skeleton
And I'm not sure she'd be interested in that.
That was pretty much what she was asking for in his bedroom; "I'm bored, let's do it." And boy, was he unimpressed.
Cary Grant in BUB is both fascinated and appalled by Katharine Hepburn; Daniel seems to me to be just appalled.
I think he could get there--they click together pretty well every now and then--but he's not there yet.
Yeah, I'm with Katie. Daniel's traditionally been attracted to women he can protect. Although Sarah, pre-Osiris, doesn't really fit that mode. Well, nor Sha're, really. I guess I'm just thinking of Kira, and to a certain extent, Reese.
I still think that Vala's not hit whatever it is that Daniel requires for him to really be attracted to her: one of those things is that he find her trustworthy, and he so doesn't. I don't see much in the way of physical awareness by him, and the chemistry isn't hot, just funny.
I'd still read good smut, though. If someone had some. IJS.
But it would be pretty!
So. Totally. Pretty.
That was pretty much what she was asking for in his bedroom
That's not how I read it. I think she wanted to be attractive to him in his bedroom. Via sympathy, if necessary. Not pity.
Although Sarah, pre-Osiris, doesn't really fit that mode. Well, nor Sha're, really.
They both pretty much flung him over their shoulder and dragged him back to their cave, though. Well, okay, not Sha're so much, but she got on board quickly (and he got to be Sensitive And Understanding in the "you mean we're married?" scene, which he always likes).
If we're going for the pretty, I want the C/D/V three-way. More pretty, no waiting.
