Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want to blaze into the anonmeme and defend Consuela. I love anonmemes.

Which one is it?

failfandom.

Also, they diss b.org, because we're elitist know-it-alls because Tim posts here. And they seem to think some other people I am friends with are Buffistas, even though they're not.

I am sorely tempted to request citations for several assertions I know to be wrong. But that would out me, so. ::shrugs::

I used to read that one, I think, and posted a little there, heatedly. And then I got bored. I only read the Supernatural one now.

They diss us? I feel so special. But, seriously, I had no idea we were on anyone's radar. They need lives.

Well, we are pretentious. And stuff.

I had a long debate on my lj some time ago about the anonymeme thing, and while I still think that it's abused as a cover for grudgewanking (because some of that shit is flat-out wrong), apparently there are people who feel (rightly or wrongly) that they can't talk in public without being anonymous. They're crippled by social anxiety, or they're just too scared of being asked to support their assertions.

Which is one reason I find it hypocritical when they go after people like my unnamed friend, because for all her faults, she has never been afraid to sign her name to an unpopular opinion. And she's paid for it.

But, you know, those places aren't monoliths: I suspect it's only a couple of people bitching about me and her, and I should just get over myself. It's not like I didn't suspect there were people out there who didn't like me. And "insufferable" is a better epithet than some I could name.

Well, we are pretentious. And stuff.

Why, because we post in complete sentences?

And we rewrote one of those Buffy episodes, the crappy one, over a summer hiatus. And Tim posts here (good thing they don't know about cferg). Though I couldn't tell you how long ago Tim posted here, not since the Minear thread became the knitting-and-home-crafts thread...

Art Crawl!!!

It's been ages. . . don't let them know about the one or two times that Joss posted here.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I live in fear of being called out in anonymemes. I've been mentioned a couple of time in fic/art threads, but no one has ever talked about me personally, and they've said mostly neutral to nice stuff about me.

The SPN one can turn pretty nasty, and I've stopped following it consistently, but it can also be really funny and thought-provoking. I just never want to mention anyone by name, in case they get torn down. But Amy does get mentioned positively from time to time, and I sure did start up a cheerleading section for her.

Ah, they just get that we're the coolest. t / Alice Cooper

They all can. Especially if there's someone with unpopular opinions, like they don't like incest or whatever--because disliking someone else's kinks is the ultimate crime, I guess. There's very little room for nuance in there, and nobody ever has to support an argument with facts.

The only truly positive thing I've seen is when someone I know was being stalked really openly by a known crank, the ffa was watching, and seemed quite supportive of her, even though some of them had earlier said unpleasant things about her. They are, again, not a monolith, and I suspect it only takes a couple of people with long-standing grudges to set off a flamefest. But they do occasionally stick up for the underdog.

Aw, thank you! But never ever tell me about the negative stuff. I never go into those things, so I'll never know, and I like it that way.
