We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Well, it was bound to happen. I've been name-dropped on one of the anonymemes as a "snotty elitist fan" who rages on about incest, is insufferable, and am tarnished by being friends with Republicans. ::rolls eyes::

God forbid we have opinions, or worse--friends.

Worse yet, there are errors of fact and it's pissing me off. But I will remain strong, and not comment. Bah.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Incest is why I have steered way the heck away from Narnia fic, in general. I don't even want to consider it. Incidentally, thank you for showing the way to something better, with your Susan fic. Good stuff. Also, doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out.

Eh, it's out there, but it's not the majority, and it's always clearly signaled. I'm less interested in the shippy stories (incest or OC) in general for Narnia, but I won't say that it's not a huge draw in some quarters (Fanfiction.net, for instance).

Seriously?

Oh, yeah. Although tbf, she's someone with a visceral dislike for incest, dislikes identity politics, and hates what she sees as the "dogpiling" culture online. Which I find vastly amusing that these people are bitching about her, because I can tell that a bunch of them actually agree with her on some issues.

She's a fantastic writer (one I full expect to see listed at Amazon at some point), and she dropped out of online fandom several years ago, so I don't know why these folks have their knives out for her, other than possibly boredom.

But god forbid I make friends with someone that I disagree with on some issues, and refuse to ditch her because other people don't like her. ::shrugs::

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want to blaze into the anonmeme and defend Consuela. I love anonmemes.

Which one is it?

failfandom.

Also, they diss b.org, because we're elitist know-it-alls because Tim posts here. And they seem to think some other people I am friends with are Buffistas, even though they're not.

I am sorely tempted to request citations for several assertions I know to be wrong. But that would out me, so. ::shrugs::

I used to read that one, I think, and posted a little there, heatedly. And then I got bored. I only read the Supernatural one now.

They diss us? I feel so special. But, seriously, I had no idea we were on anyone's radar. They need lives.

Well, we are pretentious. And stuff.

I had a long debate on my lj some time ago about the anonymeme thing, and while I still think that it's abused as a cover for grudgewanking (because some of that shit is flat-out wrong), apparently there are people who feel (rightly or wrongly) that they can't talk in public without being anonymous. They're crippled by social anxiety, or they're just too scared of being asked to support their assertions.

Which is one reason I find it hypocritical when they go after people like my unnamed friend, because for all her faults, she has never been afraid to sign her name to an unpopular opinion. And she's paid for it.

But, you know, those places aren't monoliths: I suspect it's only a couple of people bitching about me and her, and I should just get over myself. It's not like I didn't suspect there were people out there who didn't like me. And "insufferable" is a better epithet than some I could name.

Well, we are pretentious. And stuff.

Why, because we post in complete sentences?
