Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Oh, thank you so much!

It was written for a blind fic challenge hosted by a Narnia forum: the community voted on a series of prompts, and then people wrote stories for the prompts, which were posted anonymously. Unfortunately, only five people actually entered the challenge, and only about ten people voted on the submissions; I think the moderators need to do better marketing if they want to repeat the experiment.

So I'm pretty pleased with the story, even though it came in dead last in the voting. *grins*

So does anybody know of any good Nine/Jack fic? I just tried a general search, and boy, kudos for the enthusiasm, and best wishes for the improvement of the writers' skill.

Always Anti-fascist!

I got people to read RPF that were looking to...string me up for it. Or something. Of course, it was probably an easier sell because there weren't pairings or anything...but, go me, and my little mockingbird self.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I get it, but I'm saddened by the idea that orphaned bookmark lists will probably get lost in the attrition as Delicious is taken over.

I'm glad that there's someone behind it now, that probably won't decide to shut it down on a whim, but good links will be lost.

I should start reading up.

Yeah, anyone who chooses not to go with the transition to AVOS is going to lose everything. Argh.

Have any reasons been raised to choose not to go with AVOS? I'd kind of assumed it was just inactive accounts that wouldn't go over.

I don't like the insistence that users provide a name in addition to a username. But no, I don't know any other reasons, other than general concern about what they plan to do with the site. I don't want Delicious to be fixed, I just want not to lose my bookmarks. And to have a working extension for Firefox 4.0.

Well, it's a weak insistence, since my first name and last name are the same as my username. No skin off my nose.

Does anyone know what the fic landscape for Game of Thrones look like? I know there's a kink meme for it, but it's pretty dead. Is the fandom growing up around the show respecting his wishes?

I'm quite sure that fans will not respect GRRM's wishes regarding the show. Show is not novel.

That said, fandoms tend to build up best around media content with a fairly fixed formula and an appealing pair of leads. I don't see GOT having a set formula, although many of the characters are pretty. It'll be interesting to see which way the fans go.
