Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

'Out Of Gas'

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Of course it has a portmanteau.

It kind of sounds like clamber on.

I don't know if that makes it worse. It definitely doesn't make it better.

Always Anti-fascist!

I'm embarrassed as I post this, but how could I not. Vamp!Keith Olbermann(yes, really) sort of has dinner with Rachel Maddow. [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm embarrassed to say I read that, but how could I not?

Always Anti-fascist!

I'm embarrassed to say I picture him hanging around Angel trying to find a loophole in the "Perfect-happiness" clause. Because, really, define "perfect", and well, happiness changes day-to-day(Don't we all?) Plus some samplings of what Churchill and Bram Stoker said on the subject. I thought it was funny what a neat vampire KO made...that's what all the private school does for you. You're polite on your way out of the grave.

Scary how easy it is to see KO as a polite, neat vampire.

Rachel would make a great vampire. "Stoker says Dracula was able to go outside at noon! DUDE, I'm reading it RIGHT NOW." I love Rachel. Did I tell you my sister's staunchly conservative not-given-to-thinking-overmuch co-worker is now watching Rachel and adores her?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

The Mets win the series, and, in a freak accident, the last fly ball of the game takes out Dick Cheney. Instant de-soulification for KO.

Suddenly, those nights when he goes for the mafia pinstripes make more sense... also, whole 'nother vibe to "Yankee Fans Suck!1" No, that's cool, though. Rachel is adorable. All the other vampires would shake their heads to see both men and women go off with Vamp!Rachel. She could take over for the prissy Vamp Activist on True Blood, or would that just turn that metaphor in upon itself?ETA: And, now, as promised, a Special Comment. Damn it, I've been in this business over twenty years...can't I have five more minutes before the running and screaming breaks out? Ok, three, and if you bleep me, I'll eat you.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

You know what's worse than straight-up bad fanfic? One that starts out sorta good, has potential, and then skews into weird as the author apparently stops "writing" and starts taking down her masturbatory fantasy verbatim. (Note to the thankfully-unknown author: Nobody says "I'm going to mark you with my seed." Nobody. Has. Ever. Said. That. If someone says that in your fantasy, that's cool, but please. Just... don't write that down. Not to coin a phrase, but I threw up in my mouth a little.)

On a related note, there seems to be a dearth of good Leverage fanfic.
