Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
I picture him hanging around Angel trying to find a loophole in the "Perfect-happiness" clause. Because, really, define "perfect", and well, happiness changes day-to-day
The Mets win the series, and, in a freak accident, the last fly ball of the game takes out Dick Cheney. Instant de-soulification for KO.
Suddenly, those nights when he goes for the mafia pinstripes make more sense... also, whole 'nother vibe to "Yankee Fans Suck!1"
No, that's cool, though. Rachel is adorable.
All the other vampires would shake their heads to see both men and women go off with Vamp!Rachel.
She could take over for the prissy Vamp Activist on True Blood, or would that just turn that metaphor in upon itself?ETA: And, now, as promised, a Special Comment. Damn it, I've been in this business over twenty years...can't I have five more minutes before the running and screaming breaks out? Ok, three, and if you bleep me, I'll eat you.
You know what's worse than straight-up bad fanfic? One that starts out sorta good, has potential, and then skews into weird as the author apparently stops "writing" and starts taking down her masturbatory fantasy verbatim. (Note to the thankfully-unknown author: Nobody says "I'm going to mark you with my seed." Nobody. Has. Ever. Said. That. If someone says that in your fantasy, that's cool, but please. Just... don't write that down. Not to coin a phrase, but I threw up in my mouth a little.)
On a related note, there seems to be a dearth of good Leverage fanfic.
I don't know if you've seen it, but there is an lj community for Leverage fic, Zenkitty: [link]
I've seen it; thanks, though. Alas, one of the fics there is the one I'm bitching about.
The real problem with fic I don't like is, it makes me itchy to write my own. And that way lies madness and sleepless nights and misplaced perfectionism.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't read anything on it for yonks, I've been concentrating all my focus on Kirk/McCoy for the past year. I still have a variety of fic communities friended on lj even though I haven't read in them for a while. Doctor Who and Torchwood being my most missed, but I just don't have time. I've gotten into the writing end and, yeah, it eats up time. I've got a Trek Reverse Bang due on June 16th and I've signed up for the Star Trek Big Bang, so I've got a lot on my plate this summer.
Nobody says "I'm going to mark you with my seed." Nobody. Has. Ever. Said. That.
Having just read the Jezebel worst sex thread, I fear someone might have said that IRL, and definitely worse. But that doesn't make it sexy, and that doesn't make it ficworthy, and it really shouldn't be turning up in Leverage fic.
I've found that the voices in Leverage seem to be pretty hard to get, but I may have been spoilt by the sheer volume of SPN fic, which makes it easier to find palatable stuff--most of what I have to avoid is agendas.

gnnngh. No challenges, please! The lure of fanfic is hard enough to resist as it is.
Having just read the Jezebel worst sex thread
I read some of that. Didn't find any of it funny. Pathetic and/or horrifying, mostly, with an occasional, "so?"
oh, and numberslut, or in this case, perhaps numberwhoreofbabylon.

There's no upside to resisting! Create and share! Fill the void you perceive! Isn't that what it's about?
