'Objects In Space'

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have been the portal to RPF for many people.

NOT ME!

I was my own portal, or pimp, or something.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

P.S. RPF is weird.

(And American Idol is not a fandom.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I like the idea of Pine/Quinto, just because you can call it Pinto and make stud jokes. Or car ones.

But. You, know. Me.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I am still on the Rather Skeeved side. Which isn't to say I don't have my moments of hypocrisy (well-written crack is my magic bullet), but on the whole, it is not my cake or pie or bread pudding.

Because books.

It skeeves me when I think too hard about it. So ... I don't.

I do steer clear of fic that's taking really weighty personal matters and using them for plot fodder, though. Like, a certain band boy's issues with leaving his religion and his break with his family. Or another's issues with his alcoholic dad's death. That seems ... way too personal.

But reading about them turning into kittens? Not a problem! Also not a problem to read about them all having gleeful sex, either, somehow.

My lines are vague and have been erased and redrawn too many times to count.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I missed the RPF discussion at the f2f but I would have come down on the side of skeeved.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

It skeeves me when I think too hard about it. So ... I don't.

Yeah. There's a LOT of bandom RPF that I don't read, because ... well, because. But a well-written, perhaps cracky AU? Lures me in every time.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I think it's either the crack or the extreme humor that lures me in. I mean, who wouldn't love Simon Pegg not knowing how to deal with a zombie, because you know it was only a movie! And yet...Not Using the Z-Word.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I do steer clear of fic that's taking really weighty personal matters and using them for plot fodder, though. Like, a certain band boy's issues with leaving his religion and his break with his family. Or another's issues with his alcoholic dad's death. That seems ... way too personal.

So do the songs they write about it, sometimes.

Which has nothing to do with fic but everything to do with the song that came up on shuffle when I was reading this thread.
