Hmm, yeah. RPF is neither squick nor cake for me, but it's definitely a thing with conventions and plots and storylines and not just pastede.

Bingo. I didn't read RPF until I got into bandom, and even then, it took me a loooooong time. (I think there's a post way back in this thread from me bewailing the fact that there was MCR slash fic.) Speaking strictly for me, from the bandom perspective, it first was that I wanted to read about more (strictly gen!) wacky hijinks, because good God, the MCR boys were made for wacky hijinks. And then the slash (esp. Frank/Gerard) seemed plausible, because of how they present themselves on stage. And then someone had to go and write the epic bandom vampire AU, and it was all over for me.

(Hint: like most things wrong, it involves Pete Wentz.)

Pete Wentz kicked down the fourth wall and threw a dance party. Now I just try not to think about it too hard.

If the world is ending, we are, after all, throwing the party.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Pete Wentz kicked down the fourth wall and threw a dance party.

And invited furries.

I will never forget when Plei made me watch a couple of Cobra Starship videos. I think I capslock texted something like "PATRICK STUMP WHY ARE YOU IN THAT BUNNY SUIT I BLAME WENTZ".

So really, the "You can't make it up because it already happened" quote about bandom? True. Oh so true.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

JOE BIDEN IS TO BLAME FOR PETE WENTZ.

This will never not be funny to me.

Al Gore may have invented the Internets, but Joe gave us Bandom.

TOP THAT, AL! TOP THAT!

Wait, what? I must have blocked this from my memory.

CHAOS! WITH FIRE! AND GLITTER! AND FURRIES! AND ROBOTS! AND RANDOM SLASH (THE GUITARIST) HOMAGES! AND VAMPIRES! AND THE END OF THE WORLD!!

And that's just from the videos - no wonder bandom produces such cracked-out fic.

(Didn't produce the werewolf mpreg, though.)

Pete Wentz's parents met, hand to god, working for Biden.

There are pictures of Baby!Pete with Joey B.

Therefore, Biden brought us Bandom.
