Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Also Adam's "Girl on the Swing" struck me as explicitly equating abortion with murder... though Watership Down seems to not have that take.

Watership Down seems to not have that take.

Considering it's something that rabbits can do spontaneously as part of nature, it's kind of hard to make a moral judgement on it.

Yeah, but Adams at least had enough integrity as a writer not the leave it out. Of course it has been a long time since I read "Girl on a Swing", so could be misinterpreting...

Found some reviews, and they seem to imply infanticide rather than abortion. So I seem to be misremembering.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Steve Vander Ark and RDR books have lost their case. A judge has blocked the publication of the HP Lexicon.

Judge's opinion has been posted here.

I think the judge made the right call. Rowling's work is the base, and this guy is trying to make a profit off of her work.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Is there any way to get around lj's stupid adult content warning page from a hand-held? Logging in doesn't help, I just keep getting looped back to that page.

Galleycat talks about fanfic's tendency to slash and how mainstream authors feel about it.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

If anyone's looking for a really good after-the-books-end Neville fic, I can recommend The Colors of Fire by Sher over at Checkmated. She just finished it, and it's one of the best not-starring-Harry HP fics I've read.
