All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I'd love to hear you tell me you're reading the N'Sync Pern AU, because I know it's out there.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Is there a Puppyslash AU where they're all in Cascade working with Jim and Blair? Or where Chris is Jim, and JC is Blair, and I guess Lance can be Simon and Justin the Rotating Woman of the Week? Because there should be.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Hee. I think I tormented shrift with that one once. Good times, good times.

I think I tormented shrift with that one once.

Yes, and it was different than the one with the knights, which you also tormented me with, IIRC...

So many cracktastic N'Sync AUs to choose from...

Hey. New board.

t grumble

I sure wish every fanfic archive gave you an easy way to download the entire work as a single, long, simple HTML file. Like the ones I can get for A.J. Hall's stuff, or the default formatting of Invisible to See. It's by far the easiest way to read on a PocketPC, I've found, and downloading chapter by chapter and saving them that way sure is annoying, especially for the long ones I'm partial to.

In other news, I like fic! Fic is good! It entertains me on rainy evenings.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Gris, if you're looking for good, novel-length HP fic, another good one is Amid My Solitude. I thought of it because your comment reminded me of how I had to download the thing chapter by @#%&($* chapter. Very much worth it, though. It's such a good follow-up to OotP that I'm worried about how Book 6 will fare by comparison.

brillig

Chapter by chapter downloads annoy me too, which is why all my long stuff is either in one window for easy cut-and-paste or available in a downloadable .txt file. People with more design sense said it would look better if I broke up the huge files, but I'm a word whore and hate having to click to new windows.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Just read Adena 1950.(I ran across it while reading crack_van archives) That is good stuff...

Always Anti-fascist!

Isn't it? And it's MunchenKay shipper fic, too. But the saddest thing is, that archive is untended and I was never able to give the author the props I wanted to. I still feel bad about it(I'm a Bayliss girl...it's what we do) Two years later. The moral is: check in with your darlings so people can give you the strokes you deserve. I think it influenced my fic, not tonally for I am a jester at heart, but most definitely lengthwise...I write long because "Adena 1950 was long!" and it was probably the tenth fic I ever read...in any fandom. Ever. So that's why you can count my fic by the pound, although very little approaches the gift that is "Adena..."Although that and Bitchy Fic were my first clue that fic could be written for other than "so hott!" I bet some of you wish I'd discovered the drabble first. :)
