Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

'Bring On The Night'

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

My boundaries are mutable. I may be able to Go There in one fandom and not another. It all depends on the characters and how I relate to them.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ooh, looka that, 5000!

SA, I hear you. But in my case, I was already really open-minded IRL about a lot of things that bore me in fic. Maybe because it's not new discovery for me. I have very few squicks, actually--there's more I don't read because of boredom than stuff I avoid due to squick.

open-minded about fic. And pairings. And the 'cest. And wings, and AUs, and kink, and animorphing, and threesomes, and orgy-fic, and sex pollen, and, and, and.

See, everything in there is basically fun. Except for the 'cest. I *saw* the River/Simon. I could just never go there. It just...no. Too much parent/child in that particular pairing.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It all depends on the characters and how I relate to them.

Except for sex pollen. There's always room for sex pollen.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

So many terms I have no idea what they mean.

Give it time, Aimee. Give it time.

Sex pollen probably means exactly what you think it means.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Thank you Aimee!

Also, for some reason, the only thing I cannot read is wingfic. I'll read incest or rpf, but the wing thing just seems as crazy as the my little pony fic. I am sure, though, someday someone will post a great wingfic, and I will be sucked into that, too.

What is wingfic?

What is rpf?

Incest I know and, just ewww. In fact, I found a picture of James and Oliver Phelps. Oliver is holding up a sign that says, "TWINCEST IS WRONG" Made me chortle. Here it is: [link]

I'm in favor of sex pollen. However, I have no interest in reading Dean/Sam sex pollen.

Sometimes I think I'm vanilla, except for the part where I'm the person going, "What, why is everyone grossed out by bukkake? That's so tame."

And from a reader's perspective, how characters are written. If it's a slash pairing written in real-time and space, then the writer had better be able to write slash, but *in character*, and not have one or both suddenly turn into a girl. Or a daddy. Unless they ARE girls. Um.

If I may, without embarrassing anybody, shrift was my slash gateway writer, Firefly my slash gateway fandom. With Hurricane Jack and a Sayid/Sawyer thing or two hastening me along that path, as well as Plei's Wes/Gunn. I *saw* other pairings in other fandoms, previously, even read and enjoyed them. But when writers are able to write stories about relationships that are firmly set into the canon 'verse? Then I believe in them. And you guys did that for me.
