If I hadn't been struck by a cold today, I think I'd have written a treat. (It was simmering in my head in a nice, simmering fashion.)
If I feel better in the morning, I still might.
It's funny how extra-special-neurotic you can get while Waiting For Your Yuletide Recipient To Comment when you're only randomly receiving comment notification e-mails. I mean, I'm still waiting, but at least now I know that I need to check the story comment pages every once in while.
I have the comment page open for both of my stories, and hit refresh each time I finish reading a story.
By which I mean, I feel your pain (neither recipient has yet commented)
I've heard from one of my recipients! And I wouldn't be worried about the other, except she's posted to her LJ since the archive went live and didn't mention anywhere that she'd be away, and it's a tiny, tiny fandom that may five people will read.
I'll be patient. It's not like the archive's even been open that long!
It's nice to know that other people do the same thing.
Does anyone else wade through recs posts and feel their ego getting crushed bit by snivelling bit as their stories refuse to show up in anyone's recs?
I have avoided that by deciding that I will not look at anyone's recs, as I have a system worked out.
Except that one time when I saw one of my fandoms mentioned, but it wasn't my story. Yeah, a little bit crushed.

The previous three years, I wrote in a comics fandom and two anime/manga fandoms, and those aren't fandoms that tend to show up much in recommendations posts. I just assume I'm not going to get recommended, and then I'm pleasantly surprised if it happens.
Anne, it's not just you. I am so guilty of that. I felt better when I searched del.icio.us for the story title and saw more people had it saved than had commented. Try that!

Oooh, I should do that. But my recipient really liked the story, thank goodness!
