Jilli, if you need someone to bounce ideas off of who is not trying to do their own Yuletide, let me know.
Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
Okay, tonight I re-read the source material, and see if the vague and tiny plot bunny is even workable, and then try and nurture it so it grows into a proper bunny minion. If that doesn't work, then ... cry?
Drink! And make me read the sourse so that I can suggest things to you. And then listen to me whine about how many words I have so far. Which is, by the way...
(counts by hand, because there's no word count feature in spiral-bound mini notebooks) 141. All written this morning.
I have a first draft. That I finished last night at 11pm. I have no idea how I managed to do that.
Drink!
Oooh, I like that plan!
And make me read the source so that I can suggest things to you.
That's actually been part of my back-up plan for a while now.
And then listen to me whine about how many words I have so far.
You have words! I am envious! But sure, you can totally whine at me.

I second this. I meant to do Yuletide this year but missed the sign-up date, so I'd love to help.
Here's an awesome bingo card for use in those "OMG what is this weird thing called Fanfiction?" arguments: [link]
How would you feel if somebody wrote fanfic about your story? 1. Like Norma Rae."They like me...they really like me." 2. Possibly weirded out. "Um, ok, when I made those guys *partners*, I wasn't really thinking that...wacky slashers!" 3. Possibly aroused.
Exactly! If someone wrote fic for something I wrote, I'd throw cartwheels. OMG I've made the big time!
But would that still be true if the fan fic were by, say, the infamous Nikita Writer?
No, but I hope I'd still have my sense of humor.
