Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aimee, I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back to you about your story--life intervened.

No worries, chica. No worries.

And um ok it just got posted at Checkmated and I'm really quite over the moon about it probably more than I should be but I'm just really happy about it and feel kind of giddy.

I haven't mentioned it here yet, but I'm on the Community Relations committee for the Organization for Transformative Works. We just put up an "off-LJ fannish communities" survey up at otw_news, and I wanted to post a link here. Because, hey! Look! Non-LJ community right here!

It would be awesome if people could take the time to fill it out, especially if you're fannishly active somewhere other than LJ.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh. Huh. I guess this place does count, doesn't it?

Duh.

Also, Yuletide sign-ups are probably going live tonight.

Aaaaaah!

I mean, I have several notions of what I'm writing (I might be writing several notions) but I don't know what to ask for!

How do people get to ask for things on Yuletide? Is it that if you sign up, you're signing up for writing too?

(Why yes, I'm hoping for more Addams Family fic.)

Yeah, it's your basic fic exchange. You specify three or four requests, in at least three different fandoms. In return, you have to offer to write in at least three (I think) fandoms. You can specify what characters you're willing to write.

That's what I thought. It's a pity I don't feel confident enough about fic writing to be willing to sign up.

You could at least look at the list of nominated fandoms and see if there are a few you could write, nudge nudge. It's only 1,000 words, nudge nudge.

You'll have two weeks to decide, or to change your mind! Which is good, because I'm not going to be able to sign up until Sunday at the earliest and I still only have two solid requests worked out.
