Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

In honour of which I downloaded some free software last night and started recording stories

Fay! You will share those recorded stories with us, right? Because I would *love* to be able to listen to you reading me fic while I'm stuck on the bus.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Aimee, how long is your story?

If it's short, I wouldn't bother sending it back once you'd made the changes. I only get into severe beta feedback looping on longer stuff, and I'm trying to break myself of that habit, because lord, I could wind up in an endless test pass otherwise.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Bless you!

My cunning plan at present is to upload them to the LJ community called audiofic, from which they can then be merrily downloaded. I've recorded one little LotR piece about Grima, one little all-dialogue comic turn featuring Snape/Lupin and am working on recording one piece of Good Omens fic at present. (Don't think I'm likely to record anything particularly X-rated.)

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Story's just over 2k words. I made the changes and sent the whole thing back to her before I checked back here. She seemed fine with it. I don't know her at all, but she's really great and her feedback's been really helpful and I really like her stories that I've read. She had a couple more things on the second go-round and then she thinks ti can be posted. Whee!

I have also stumbled upon some ... wow ... I can't call it "bad" fic cause I haven't read it (and a lot of it - probably won't), but when I read a pairing as Ron/Hermione and then in the warnings read "beastiality", I have the thought "Crookshanks?" and then click away screaming.

I'm all for the slash and the sex and the porny, but some of this stuff is just ... wow.

Thrive to spite them

I would love to have Fay read fic.

There's also a slash only comm called podslash.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I would love to have Fay read fic.

Hell, I would write fic just for Fay to read.

There's also a slash only comm called podslash.

Do they slash mp3 players? Cause I really think iPod/Zune was just doomed to fail.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Aimee, I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back to you about your story--life intervened.

the way I buy Vanzetti's Firefly/SPN fusion (not a crossover: the Winchesters grew up in the Firefly 'verse, hunting demons), because I think the universes are too widely separated. But it was a fun read.

I *love* that story. I thought it was just so f'ing good.

No worries, chica. No worries.

And um ok it just got posted at Checkmated and I'm really quite over the moon about it probably more than I should be but I'm just really happy about it and feel kind of giddy.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I haven't mentioned it here yet, but I'm on the Community Relations committee for the Organization for Transformative Works. We just put up an "off-LJ fannish communities" survey up at otw_news, and I wanted to post a link here. Because, hey! Look! Non-LJ community right here!

It would be awesome if people could take the time to fill it out, especially if you're fannishly active somewhere other than LJ.
