There are way too many Jacks and Sams and Dans for me to intuit which one it is, man!
I now have a twisted urge to write a blindingly huge crossover, solely for the purpose of massive amounts of name confusion.
(It's possible I shouldn't even let my muse out of the house.)
Good catch, Shrift. Aimee, here's the tag for my most recent fic posts on LJ. I don't do pairings mostly, but otherwise that's about how you'd see them.
Oh, and sometimes it's nice to put a word-count there, as a courtesy.
So I caved and read Shalott's HP/SPN Wincesty crossover. And having to squint and scroll past the Wincest was more than made up for by the Hogwarts ghosts
staging a protest about the ghost-killing Winchesters in attendance, and Dean bonding with the goblins, and getting sorted into Hufflepuff, and basically being completely unimpressed with the wizarding world. Sam, of course, is Slytherin. Hah!
That was, in fact, very funny.
It was all very much worth skimming past the wincest. So, so good. Dean
with the Hufflepuffs was just beyond perfect.
Ironically, the Wincest doesn't faze me if it's shallot writing it, but the idea of a Supernatural/Harry Potter crossover is a watch from the hall concept for me.
Oy. Just started reading a fic where Teyla's previously unmentioned phobia about fire is invented. Perhaps two sentences before a reference to her being too tired to light the many candles in her room.
'cause lots of pyrophobics enjoy being soothed by lots of tiny dancing flames all around them.
Can't do the HP/SPN xover. Funny where my lines are.

It took a very trusted fic buddy to convince me to read the story. I'm glad I did, but yeah, if I didn't trust myself to skim and mentally redact certain parts, I'm not sure I would have read it.
I've just...not been able to read any HP fic at all. It's sort of sacrosanct to me, the HP world, between the books and the movies. I know I'm rejecting all sorts of wonderful writing. I just can't bring myself to even dabble.
I'm sure it's wonderful. I'm still laughing over Bad Blood.
It's not a crossover I actually buy, the way I buy Vanzetti's Firefly/SPN fusion (not a crossover: the Winchesters grew up in the Firefly 'verse, hunting demons), because I think the universes are too widely separated. But it was a fun read.
