Buffy: You tossed that vamp like he was a... little teeny vamp. Riley: You wanna go again? C'mon. I bet this place is just teeming with aerodynamic vampires.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

If you research enough to know about ECR, why not finish the job?

Hah! Lee, if you scroll back in this thread about a hundred posts, you'll find the exact same post by me. Hee.

Threw me right out of the story, it did.

Am I a bad person if I look at all the posts about the current LJ situation, and think "boy the LJ people are being idiots...oh well" and then just go about my business?

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I think that's a very healthy tactic, Lee.

(Are they still on about the underage whatnot? I've been hiding under a very large fic-shaped rock.)

Lee, I've been in fandom too long to panic. I'm just going to keep on keeping on. I'm not doing anything right now other than name-squatting on various journal sites.

I did sign up with GJ, but honestly, while I can see what's got people upset, I just can't really find the energy to care much on a personal level.

Thrive to spite them

It's still the underage thing and also LJ being unclear about their policies.

The latest WTF LJ WTF! thing I read was from violet_quill, in her journal here -- [link] , she asked if linking to prohibited material would get the same punishment as actually posting it on the lj? Because some fans have said, well just link to whatever you can't post on your lj.

But the answer from the lj support was:

In general, yes. In certain cases, for example if there is indication that the content present on the page being linked to was changed to include the prohibited content after the link to it was posted, the actions taken would likely change. In such a case, we would allow the person to remove the link rather than suspend their account, assuming suspension was the normal course of action. Other factors, such as whether or not the user is intentionally linking to content in an attempt to circumvent LiveJournal's Terms of Service, or if some part of a link just incidentally happened to contain a violation, may also effect a decision.

She has asked for clarification since that seems to contradict this policy: we can't address any content which resides off of LiveJournal as, quite frankly, it's none of our business what occurs off our servers.

Not to mention the fact that several lj employees have shown up in various communities (like stupid_free) and made comments that make them and the company look even stupider.

LJ/SA is being deeply, painfully stupid. I'm ignoring it until it all shakes out.

Exactly.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The thing that made me start reconsidering paying 6Apart any more money was when someone in an official capacity commented that the pro-anorexia communities were okay because "it isn't illegal to want to be thin".
