Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Wash ,'War Stories'

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Thrive to spite them

It's still the underage thing and also LJ being unclear about their policies.

The latest WTF LJ WTF! thing I read was from violet_quill, in her journal here -- [link] , she asked if linking to prohibited material would get the same punishment as actually posting it on the lj? Because some fans have said, well just link to whatever you can't post on your lj.

But the answer from the lj support was:

In general, yes. In certain cases, for example if there is indication that the content present on the page being linked to was changed to include the prohibited content after the link to it was posted, the actions taken would likely change. In such a case, we would allow the person to remove the link rather than suspend their account, assuming suspension was the normal course of action. Other factors, such as whether or not the user is intentionally linking to content in an attempt to circumvent LiveJournal's Terms of Service, or if some part of a link just incidentally happened to contain a violation, may also effect a decision.

She has asked for clarification since that seems to contradict this policy: we can't address any content which resides off of LiveJournal as, quite frankly, it's none of our business what occurs off our servers.

Not to mention the fact that several lj employees have shown up in various communities (like stupid_free) and made comments that make them and the company look even stupider.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

LJ/SA is being deeply, painfully stupid. I'm ignoring it until it all shakes out.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Exactly.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The thing that made me start reconsidering paying 6Apart any more money was when someone in an official capacity commented that the pro-anorexia communities were okay because "it isn't illegal to want to be thin".

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Can I say, the only thing that really bothers me about the whole thing is seeing "SA" bandied about everywhere. It's kind of unnerving, seeing your name in the context of so much negativity.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It's been kind of weirding me out too.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It bugs me too.

Go 6A! Choose 6A!

::shrugs:: I've paid for LJ, and I'll stick around until there's a particular reason for me not to. If that happens I'm going back to a blog hosted on my own domain. But I don't forsee leaving, really.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

A bigass recommendation, for everyone who isn't at Vividcon this weekend:

Seperis' And All the World Beneath, an epic AU apocalyptic SPN/SGA crossover. Hard R, I'd call it, although she labels it NC-17. Lots of violence, a bit of slashy sex, and it's just awesomely long and meaty and scary and creative and cool. Plotty as hell. And scary!

Tim Cox - Buffy: Anya, that thing you created burst through solid pavement and ate her dog. Anya (anguished): Oooh, puppy!

I'd like to invite everyone to read my unfinished fanfiction Kafara: The Undead Vampire Slayer.

There is a lot more finished in it than what can be seen at the link, but I had been posting all my updates at SaveAngel. Then the server went wonky and the formatting wiereded out. So Ive posted some of it at the link.
