You're kidding. I mean, c'mon -- that place is just as slash-heavy as Peg B is.

Right? I mean, hello? Who are the mods?

There's now a second complainer, and they're both calmly agreeing that it would have been ever-so-considerate to label it for people who "try to avoid" slash. Which...I know, not really an outrageous demand, but it just hit me at totally the wrong time today. Plus, if someone acted that way about het? Watch out for the fireworks. But slash, of course, must be treated like it's icky and contagious!

The second person said she'd just make up her own ending. Um...thanks. I guess.

I saw. I don't get the "OMG must avoid slash!" I mean, okay. You hit "back" when you see where it's going. But then I'm one of those read-anything people. (With the possible exeption of incest, and I've even read that, once or twice, depending on the context and content.)

And, really, if the story's good, the story's good. Which it is.

It's also the tamest slash ever. It's practically smarm.

Anyway. Letting it go. Lovely feedback from other people. Moving on.

Nah, Smarm has a whole other feel. Smarm makes me want to take a shower to wash off the goo.

I bet SGA fandom is a perfect fandom for smarm. I haven't seen much since Sentinel days, but you know out there, there are stories with John and Rodney cuddling in bed, but still being *just friends*.

Thrive to spite them

I did start reading a story with John and Rodney being very snuggly in bed, but they had sex. But then he story jumps to John waking up. Turns out he was beat near to death and they'd pulled out the feeding tube, and instead of dying (like they expected) John woke up.

Then I stopped reading.

Dana, your story is fantastic, you nailed the voices and their relationship.

And Shalott just stomped on them for whining. So you win.

Dana, what's the story's title? I'm woefully unfamiliar with people's lj usernames.
