Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
Oh, my SG-1 love runs deep and true. I feel like it's over, the original show, but I am looking forward to this next iteration, now with added Ben Browder goodness.
But. I do like SGA, and I like it much more than I expected to. Not nearly on the same level as my love of SG-1, but the second half of the season, with at least one exception that I can think of, was pretty strong. Especially for a first season show. I grow to adore some of the characters more and more. They'll never be The Team to me, but I'm still glad they're around.
Don't know how they're going to deal with the Wraith issue. Doesn't seem to be a lot of wiggle room.
I think SG-1 shall be my next show to try when i have infinite time and a DVD player and TV again. Tried Farscape, got nowhere, time to try something new.

How far did you get with it? It really doesn't come together until late in S1, when things start to get nasty and arctastic.
Hint: the redder Crichton's eyes, the better the episode.
It's the Visine scale, and sadly, most of the first part of the first season are one-droppers. By S3, you'd need the whole bottle.
Wow. I really, really need coffee.
I tried Farscape when it was rerunning weeknights on Sci Fi. I think I overdosed on too much too soon.
I kinda kept up with what was going on and occasionally would think about watching it. Then I watched the movie. I hadn't seen most of Farscape but I kept crying. Omigod!!
So then I put it all on my Netflix queue and I watched the first one, and Dad sat down, and he got hooked. So we're watching it one disc at a time, rather slow going.
Except he's not watching Crichton's weird dream with everyone in bondage. Or, he could watch it but not with me anywhere NEAR the house.

Not very far. A disc or two. I didn't dislike it, really, just had no interest in continuing. I fully expect that someday I'll try it again, and really get into it, as it had potential, but it didn't grab me like Alias or, umm, my girly dramas. (Gilmore Girls, Once and Again). I really don't watch ALL that much TV.

I very know this feeling.
Someone at sga_flashfic just got snippy with me because I didn't put a slash warning on a fic I posted.
Some days, I hate the world, you know?
You're kidding. I mean, c'mon -- that place is just as slash-heavy as Peg B is.
By the way, you shouldn't hate the world, because that's a lovely little story.
So, how did the Shrift-conversion go? Was she sufficiently impressed by Atlantis?
I don't know that impressed is the word... I mean, I was giggling a lot, and I adore Rodney like whoa. I also have all the episodes, which I need to find time to watch again before the new ones start up.
And will she write Zelenka for us?
Uh. I'd like to? I have no idea? Writing mojo seems to have gone on vacation after my last story.
I'm not sure if I'm liking Aquarium better than the original because I got in on the ground floor, or because the characters/actors are more appealing to me. Sam's really the only character from SG-1 that I have any affection left for, whereas I really like both Sheppard and Weir and at least enjoy Beckett and later-season Teyla.
I'd definitely agree that Go'auld are more interesting as enemies than the fetish ball Edgar Winter clones.
