Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
To file under: "It's a sickness."
I just left the family gathering (in my living room) to refresh my story to check for comments. ::facepalm::
(It had some. Yay!)
I got two stories! LA LA LA LA LA!
I only got one, but it was AWESOME.
Yay! Both of mine were for "Big Eden," which is also YAY.
Dear LORD, Yuletide is made of sheer AWESOME!!!
There was GOOD DARK ANGEL!!!1!!! OMG!!!!!!!
I flail in the general direction of the archive.
Really? Will the holiday miracles never end!
Good Dark Angel GEN!!!!1! About ALEC!!!
Seriously, I'm still flailing.
Best. Yuletide. Ever.
The sheer quality of so much of this stuff. Wow.
I totally am teasing you in the near future about how there was good quality DA fic at Yuletide, because when I first saw it I turned to Fay and said, "I predict we will hear squee from the general direction of Seattle shortly."
I got the most perfect Dexter story ever. Like, *amazing.* It hit everything. There's also a very good Mirrormask story, which, yay, and some History Boys that are made of awesome. So much fic! Best present ever.
Oh, but dude. The Kiss Kiss Bang Bang fiction? Definitely the funniest shit in the archive. I recommend all the of the stories--there are like four or five, and they are just incredible.
Someone really needs to go through the archive at Yuletide and clean up the index. When I went to look at stories written in the Angel fandom, the first 4 or 5 stories listed were for Dark Angel. I'm not sure if the search is set to look for any "angel" in the fandom line, but it's not super accurate. Also, when I looked under the Buffy fandom, it only had four stories. I know of at least one that's missing (Eurydice's) and since you can't search on author, there's no way to find where the story actually ended up if you don't know the title of the story already. Still, I'm going to have fun looking through the archive.
There's a very good story based on the Tillerman Cycle by Cynthia Voight (Homecoming, Dicey's Song, etc) that I really recommend.
