Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Wow, I can not imagine writing 6000 words in a day. Yeah, when I was in school and pulling an all-nighter to get a paper done, but otherwise? I'm not even that fast a touch typist!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Fast, prolific, and good are the trifecta of most successful novelists's tricks.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

It's a lot, but I can believe it; for NaNoWriMo, I write 2000 words a day by scraping together 2 hours in which to write. If I wrote full time, 6 or 7 hours a day, I'd aim at 6000 or so a day; no hope while I'm studying, or if I was working, but if write was all I did... we're into daydream land, mind you.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Indeed. My mom, as a professional writer, has a strict schedule she sticks by to keep producing. There are, of course, endless revisions, but at that stage the production is the most important and hardest part. With eight hours to write in and the motivation to do it, one could accomplish a lot.

lunchtime...

Choosing my Yuletide noms this year was tough! The last three years I had a pretty set list--Narnia, The Dark is Rising, King Arthur/The Abhorsen Series. All books, all things I wanted! But this year I'm skewing more towards new media in television/movies--Heroes, Dexter, The History Boys. I chose Rome last year, and put it back on for this year too, 'cause I love it. And it's coming back in January.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Too much knowledge is a dangerous thing. Half of SGA fandom is squeeing over a new story, an AU set in England during WWII. And I can't help but trip over the fact that there was no such thing as the US Air Force at that time. There was the Army Air Corps and then the Army Air Forces, but no freestanding Air Force.

Ah, well. Pretty formatting, anyway.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, I saw that pop up on my f-list today. I'll just try to not think too much, assuming it's good otherwise.

It's pretty good, I wouldn't say it's fantastic. It's really the multi-media aspect that makes it special. Very creative.

HA. That's true. I'd forgotten that.

It's been everywhere on my flist today/yesterday. There was a really fantastic HP multimedia story, set in the Black house (HP) that this reminds me off. But I think it'll (by it I mean the SGA story) be really entertaining nonetheless.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Crap. I have a day and a half to pick my yuletide nominations.
