Indeed. My mom, as a professional writer, has a strict schedule she sticks by to keep producing. There are, of course, endless revisions, but at that stage the production is the most important and hardest part. With eight hours to write in and the motivation to do it, one could accomplish a lot.
Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Choosing my Yuletide noms this year was tough! The last three years I had a pretty set list--Narnia, The Dark is Rising, King Arthur/The Abhorsen Series. All books, all things I wanted! But this year I'm skewing more towards new media in television/movies--Heroes, Dexter, The History Boys. I chose Rome last year, and put it back on for this year too, 'cause I love it. And it's coming back in January.
Too much knowledge is a dangerous thing. Half of SGA fandom is squeeing over a new story, an AU set in England during WWII. And I can't help but trip over the fact that there was no such thing as the US Air Force at that time. There was the Army Air Corps and then the Army Air Forces, but no freestanding Air Force.
Ah, well. Pretty formatting, anyway.
Oh, I saw that pop up on my f-list today. I'll just try to not think too much, assuming it's good otherwise.
It's pretty good, I wouldn't say it's fantastic. It's really the multi-media aspect that makes it special. Very creative.

HA. That's true. I'd forgotten that.
It's been everywhere on my flist today/yesterday. There was a really fantastic HP multimedia story, set in the Black house (HP) that this reminds me off. But I think it'll (by it I mean the SGA story) be really entertaining nonetheless.
Crap. I have a day and a half to pick my yuletide nominations.

I'm so confused by the nomination process. I thought that if a fandom showed up on the current master list that it was nominated, only it turns out that may not be true. So I have no idea what I'm going to do.

I didn't want to get too engrossed and read the whole thing during work hours, but from a brief glance isn't it set in the RAF rather than the American armed forces?

Um. I know I read the community. I think it was this morning. Very early this morning.
I'm tempted to just skip this step and hope that people nominate what I want, except I don't even know what I want, and I know I will kick myself two days after nominations when I remember what I'm forgetting.
