No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

You know, just looking at some of the comments posted in the yuletide LJ, I would *kill people* if I were running this challenge.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

At least no one's hacked it yet this year, knock on wood.

Hey, that's the only reason my story ended up getting a beta, last year. Not that it being hacked was a good thing. Just that it worked out well for me.

You know, just looking at some of the comments posted in the yuletide LJ, I would *kill people* if I were running this challenge.

This is why I pretty much never comment on that lj. I try to just do what I said I would do and not cause trouble. Of course, squeaky wheels...

Finished Cartographers Craft.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Is it wrong of me to be all giddy because shalott left a nice review for my Yuletide story?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hell no! You rock! Go you!

Whee! I got a couple recs! I mean, not from shalott or anything, but still. I'm such a praise whore.

To cereal, because I'm in Michigan and thus won't get much chance to post for a few days:

You know, I try really hard on my yuletide stories, and I think I do okay, but then when I get the stories written for me, I'm blown away by how good some of the writing is. I really get the better part of this deal.

Well done, love! I'm thoroughly enjoying pottering through the stories in the archive - at least those whose source materials I know a little. There's some lovely stuff there. Can't wait to find out which ones you folks wrote!

For my part I didn't sign up for the challenge, but I'm thoroughly looking forward to the New Years Resolution Challenge, which is almost as much fun and has no pesky timeline.
