To cereal, because I'm in Michigan and thus won't get much chance to post for a few days:
You know, I try really hard on my yuletide stories, and I think I do okay, but then when I get the stories written for me, I'm blown away by how good some of the writing is. I really get the better part of this deal.
Well done, love! I'm
thoroughly
enjoying pottering through the stories in the archive - at least those whose source materials I know a little. There's some lovely stuff there. Can't wait to find out which ones you folks wrote!
For my part I didn't sign up for the challenge, but I'm thoroughly looking forward to the New Years Resolution Challenge, which is almost as much fun and has no pesky timeline.
Friendly note to person on my friendslist:
"Nobody wrote my preferred pairing in my favored fandoms" != "Everybody hates cunt" [her phrasing, not mine.]
Also? " YOU BITCHES HATE WOMEN!" not really conducive to encouraging more female/female pairings.
Was this person bitching about Yuletide, or fanfiction in general?
The world, if history is any guide.

Wow. Someone needs therapy.
Heh, it's JennyO, innit? I don't even have to check.
Just came back from a week-long time-off with family with spotty access to internet and now, look at all these stories I need to read and no time to do it! Bah.
I didn't have to check either, Vonnie. I've seen more than a few rather hateful posts about Yuletide. And while the whole anonymous story thing tends to send me into a neurotic tailspin, at least I'm not inflicting it on anyone else.
Plus, kind of ignoring
all of the gen
written for Yuletide.
That's Two ! Two!
I demand the title of Thread Killer by right of Combat! People, send forth your Champion!

Obviously, I have the wrong people friended. All I've seen is sweetness and light. Where's my vitriol, dammit?
What kinds of things are people saying, then?
