D., I read Cesperanza's Chicago's Most Wanted having only the barest knowledge of DueSouth, but I laughed all the way through it anyway. It's slash, but it's really more of a madcap comedy involving amnesia and prison-breaks. All you need to know going in is that Fraser is a very polite and well-behaved Mountie, and Ray is his oft-frustrated Chicago cop partner.
I sneer at your Yuletide flailings. I have sg1teamficathon due on the 14th. I've already started and abandoned one story, and am almost halfway through on the second. No way was I doing a 10,000-word story when the novel is yet unedited.
I have my Yuletide fic halfway written, but I am
not
happy with it. I've also signed up for another fic exchange for one of my anime fandoms (Bleach) because I am clearly out of my mind.
I'm never doing another fic exchange, I suspect. I have deadlines all over me at work, and fandom is for fun. I don't need the extra stress.
Oh, that's a great rec Consuela. Totally seconding every word.

After last night, I have my Yuletide fic halfway written, and I'm ambivalent about it. Situation normal!

w00t!
Heh. I haven't had a fandom eat my brain like this in a long time. How far are you along in the series, BTW?
I'm kind of excited. Somebody just invited me to nominate my fic for an award. It's a first for me.
Which one should I pick?
I'm fairly certain that my yuletide Secret Santee is not a Buffista.
So, is there anyone out there who would feel comfortable beta-reading a story set in the "Fables" universe? I won't have anything ready to send for crit for another few days, but I thought I'd start asking around now.
Anne, I've been reading Fables and I'd be glad to help.
eta: also not involved with the yuletide secret santa.
Thanks, Deena! I should have something to send along in a day or two
