The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Parker, did you ever read the massive fic Fay wrote as a present for me? It's bandom (therefore RPF), but you don't need to know who any of the real people are, because (IMO) it would work as a non-fandom urban fantasy story. It's just *funnier* if you know who the musicians are. [link]

If you want, there's also an adorably cracky wish!baby fic in Hannibal that I don't think would distract you down the path of thinking about the recipes. [link]

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Fic recs that don't really require canon knowledge! Maybe just the basic premise for some of them!

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Atropa, I had read our Fay's present to you, but it's been long enough that it would almost be new! The other, I will try, since you say I will not wander down "But where did he get the - no, brain, stop it!" paths.

Thank you, Dana - I have not read Monstress yet, but everything else I can get by on.

Have I thanked you all for calling me 'Parker'? People in my Zoom meetings/passing in the garage don't, and I hadn't realized how much I think of that name as me.

For that bonkers crossover, I only know Young Wizards, the Paul Simon song, and a bit about the cats. It still works.

Happy to provide fandom-specific recs too.

Anything for Goblin Emperor?

No, sorry. I read the book and (whispers) didn't really like it. It looks like it's been a Yuletide fandom for the last few years, though.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I read all of Astolat’s Witcher fic without ever playing the game or reading the books, before the Netflix series came out. [link] There’s 10 of them, mostly long. They’re a big part of why I watched the show.

Oh, Parker, I have a bunch of Goblin Emperor stuff. Hang on-- Well, I thought I did, but apparently I didn't bookmark them? Bad fan. Well, here's one anyway: [link]

It's a WIP but it's charming. Maia runs away from Setheris when he's 16 and becomes a courier. Really great world-building. I'll see what else I can find--I think Victoria P. does some good recs.

Oh, and here's a widely-recced one, The Winter Emperor, in which Maia is abducted and hidden away, and Csevet comes to find him: [link]
