Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

hhmmph, no es una pelicula para mi.

know what helps your a/cs work better, if you clean off the filters that have been gathering NYC air funk for the last 12 months.

If there is a tab on my a/c that says "Vent Pull" would you all think that it means to pull = opening the vent? I am trying to just run the fans with vents open to let in outside air since with the rain it is supposedly 68 or so outside. My a/cs are telling me it is 79/80 in my house.

Capri pants may not be for everyone, I admit. But I look KICKY! in them.

FTR, Pants that are capri on you, would end up being cuffed and too long on me. IJS.

I have super good news but I'm not ready to spill it yet. Waiting for finalization.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Hil, if you're still around, it's giving us a blank-ish screen. Still has the little TiVo logo in the upper left hand corner, and the "Now Playing" background screen, but no foreground, no menu, no nothing. When we push buttons on the remote the sensor lights on the DVR blink obligingly, but nothing happens. Internet is humming along cheerfully. Cable may possibly be out, but it's hard to tell, because with no menu and nothing happening no matter what we do to the remote, we can't get to the "Watch Live TV" option, let alone anything we had stored.

Of course, the DVD player is working fine and Hec just picked up the box set of "The Adventures of Pete and Pete," not to mention all the as-yet-unwatched Homicide and Millennium and seventy berjillion books, so it's not like we're starving for stimulation, but still. 'Tis baffling.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

JZ, I'm not sure exactly what the problem is there. Have you tried unplugging it for a minute and then plugging it in again? That frequently resolves Tivo weirdness.

::kisses her bad, bad, wandering lost TiVo all over, then shakes it, bursts into tears, hugs it, and sobs furiously, "Don't you EVER do that again, you hear me? I thought I'd lost you!"::

::also kisses Hil up and marries her and has her babies and names them all "TiVo is Hil's Bitch"::

JZ, that's what I would have recommended. Turn it all the way off and then on again, unplug and replug, and if worse comes to worst, restart it if you can.
