Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

IME, if (raw) fish smells bad, it shouldn't be eaten. Really fresh fish shouldn't smell like much of anything at all.

What is even happening?

Wolfram, wolframandhartma to you!

Jesse, some good bread and butter, and a cup of tea (or glass of iced tea) and you've had the perfect summer supper, already.

Really, the best response to "I don't like bacon" is a respectful if sad silence, and the quick spearing of the last three strips on the serving plate.

No. You can't risk it. You ask straight out, "May I have it, please?"

What, and give them the opportunity to change their mind?

Visilurking

Thanks guys. I've spent half my day reassuring my client that I'm cool and professional and well-prepared. Now I can spend the rest of it freaking the hell out preparing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think I may have a hotdog, actually -- I need something more substantial and protein-y.

Good luck, Wolfram!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Salt. Fat. Pig.

What she said. Also, texture and taste.

Trial-ma to Wolfram.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Spent the day(and most of yesterday) at the Washington Folk Festival. Lots of good music, and plenty of neat crafts to drool over.(All I bought was a toy dinosaur for my nephew Jordy, so he won't feel left out at his brother's bris)

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'd think "his brother's bris" would be the one place a young boy would feel happy to be left out.

Sounds like a wonderful day, Sheryl.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

ROBIN! I keep missing you. But (1) I saw the WBB walking Layla down the street on Friday. I thought about honking but didn't want to freak out the people around me. (2) how was the hollywood bowl and Garrison K?

just got back from the movies. That was twice in 1 weekend. Something must be wrong.
