The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

He's also had the benefit of seeing my other two cats, who dwarf even the first cat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That little baby Runtini is a killer. OMG.

Did I tell y'all about the two-month old Shih Tzu I met the other day? Such a teeny little guy.

Isn't he just, Jesse? I keep saying that if I had a big house with a yard I'd have a couple of dogs, but honestly, I think I'd have 2 dogs, lots of cats, and maybe a couple of ferrets.

Are ferrets legal in CA these days? I vaguely remember hearing they weren't at some point.

Miss Brown looks like my old cat, Noodle. Who was a complete princess. I love those bat ears.

I have laundered and shopped for my parents' visit. I also got a set of those modal sheets in deep purple. (not the stretchy kind) They are pretty. And going to match so well with my duvet & rug. Which are deep crimson. Well, they go ok, if the theme is rich jewel tones. Which it should be. The sensical choice would have been the rich gold ones but....the purple was so pretty.

Still have to wash those, the duvet, the futon thing, get the car washed, hit goodwill, clean the hell out of the apartment and prep some meals. And I'm going out tonight, so I'm going to be pooped tomorrow. Ah well.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Congratulations, Stephanie! And welcome to the world, Elizabeth!

Snerk. I'm looking at the Class Matters graphics and stuff on the NY Times site, and from one of those graphs, it looks like I've chosen to get my Ph. D. in one of the only fields where people with Bachelor degrees tend to earn more than people with more advanced degrees. I'd kind of known that, but hadn't actually seen it broken down like that before.

t edit: well, sort of. Looking at it some more, it's a little more complicated than that.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Ellie! You rocket baby! Good job!
