Well, I'd like to be a supporter of entropy. Just because it is fun to say. Entropy!Entropy!Entropy!

Man, that post wound down fast.

Thanks, folks! I'll be here all week; try the veal.

If I only had a brain...

I used to have a button that said "Agent of Entropy".

I suppose at one time you might have had supporters of a sun centered solar system and supporters of an earth centered solar system.

I don't find the idea of having "supporters" of evolution or "supporters" of intelligent design as being absurd. I find intelligent design to be absurd, but that's a different issue.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Jessica--your DH interviewed Martin Freeman!! How cool is that! Holy Moly, I am so jealous. I am such a Tim+Dawn4eva shipper, I would have gushed like a 7th grader.

The very notion of there being "supporters" of evolution is ridiculous. Would anyone claim to be a "supporter" of gravity, or the laws of thermodynamics? It's fucking absurd.

I don't find the idea of having "supporters" of evolution or "supporters" of intelligent design as being absurd. I find intelligent design to be absurd, but that's a different issue.

If there were more than one reality-based explanation for the diversity of life, then it would be appropriate to speak of 'supporters of evolution' and supporters of 'the other theory.' These would be people who differed in their interpretation of the data.

But there are no reality-based alternatives to evolution. So to call scientists 'supporters of evolution' is the same as calling them 'supporters of reality' or 'supporters of truth' or perhaps 'supporters of the world as it really is.' Why not use the more general descriptors? They place this 'debate' in a proper context.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

reality-based explanation

I assume you mean scientific explanation vs. religious explanation and not reality vs. fiction?
