OC fans in NorCal, Peter Gallagher will be at UC Berkeley presenting the Sandy Cohen Fellowship on Friday, May 6th. I don't see it on the web site, but flyers are posted all over.

Perkins yelled at me when I didn't give a heads up the first time he showed up to do this.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We had a bus driver with a silence system. When the overhead lights went on, it was time to be silent.

She did not like noisy kids At All. Got really scary one day when she decided to turn the bus around and go back to the school. IIRC, several kids were kicked off the bus. Some parts of her route being 15 miles from the school.

My brother, who had the same bus driver at the time (but a different schedule, because we were in different buildings) later told us that the kids were told that the bus had broken down.

I can't even.

The Star Wars line done in Lego:

Huh. I love this remark: "Unfortunately I didn't see any lego pizzas so I guess it's not too realistic."

What is even happening?

The The Boston Globe [link] has an interesting interview with a Philosopher of Science, Michael Ruse. In part, it says:

He is both a staunch supporter of evolution and an ardent critic of scientists who he thinks have hurt the cause by habitually stepping outside the bounds of science into social theory.

Luck to Fay as well! Would this job mean you could stay in Foreign Parts?

Michael Ruse

I understand his point, but on the other hand I hate to criticize scientists for expressing opinions. I would be critical of attempting to portray philosophy as science, but I don't know enough about the works he talks about to know if that is the case.

I downloaded music last night. It was fun although it managed to get my wife angry at me, which wasn't fun.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The very notion of there being "supporters" of evolution is ridiculous. Would anyone claim to be a "supporter" of gravity, or the laws of thermodynamics? It's fucking absurd.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Perkins yelled at me when I didn't give a heads up the first time he showed up to do this.

I did?. I mean I would have, if I'd been here, but I wasn't, and I am confused.

I haven't had coffee yet.
